Thoughts, highlights and stories from the week:
(1) Never say negative things about - yourself, or what you’re working on or even what you’re doing. Even if you’re joking! Because your body doesn’t know the difference. If you sit around talking about your problems all the time, it makes it worse. Just block out all the negativity. Tell the youtube and instagram algorithm that you only want to be fed positive stuff by liking things that inspire you. Because at the end of the day we are products of inputs. Put in the right fuel through what you hear, see and say to energize yourself. Block out all the noise that drains you.
(2) If you do what everyone else does, you will get what everyone else gets. If you do more than everyone else, you will likely get more back. But here is the catch - it is difficult to do more than the rest if you aren’t driven by a mission. You need something larger than yourself to get the extra out of yourself.
(3) If you have health, you have hope. If you have hope you have everything. Stay healthy.
(4) "I get up every morning. I make breakfast for my kids. I drop them to school. I then practice tennis for about two hours. I've figured out a really good routine where I don't destroy my body but I can really get in all the work I need. And then I go have lunch with my wife and then in the evening we cook dinner together. The kids are all home from school. We ask them about their day. There is so much joy in the house. And then we put them to bed. At night I put my head on the pillow and I think "man that was just a great day." I've been doing that for 20 years."
That's what Roger Federer said when asked how he has been successful for 20 years. He loves tennis. He loves his family. He loves life.
So it's not outworking everybody. It's allowing your natural talent to shine through with a work ethic, with a great family life, with perspective, with peace, with mindfulness about you which says "man I'm so lucky to do what I do."
All of us here are in the top 1% of lucky people in the world. Just look at all the suffering out there and be grateful.
(5) It’s great if you know which direction you are headed. But if you don’t, it’s even more important to get moving. Take a left or right at the fork on the road. The worst thing you can do is stand still and go into analysis paralysis over which direction to take. Those who are constantly moving find their way.

I spent sixteen years helping build a business till it sold. Now I'm helping build something much bigger. I share what I learn on WhatsApp, LinkedIn, and this Sunday Email.
